The town of Millicent will benefit from a $267,5000 grant through last week’s State Budget to redevelop the Domain Millicent Parklands and Civil Precinct.
The project, which is jointly funded dollar for dollar between the State Government and the Wattle Range Council, has been made available through the Open Space Grant Programme, administered by the Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure.
The funding will be used for the following:
Member for MacKillop, Nick McBride MP says the project will create a great space for festivals and community events.
“This funding is fantastic news for the town of Millicent. It will re-invigorate the town’s public spaces by offering plenty of recreational options that will appeal to a wider population. It will encourage locals and visitors to the town to participate in outdoor activities, which will help improve their well-being, and encourage a more healthy lifestyle.”
“It is great to see our Government supporting projects such as this one, put forward by a Regional Council for the benefit of our regional community.”
