Statement from Nick McBride – Member for MacKillop

“As the Independent Member for MacKillop I am looking forward to welcoming the Labor Government’s Country Cabinet to the region. I see this as an important opportunity for the Government to learn more about what matters in our region. It is an opportunity for the community to be heard – whether it be on the state of our roads, our health system, our environment, our schools, our housing, industry or water needs.  

I urge you to attend the Community forum on the Thursday evening in Naracoorte. It is my hope that the outcome from this forum will help the Government ensure that existing services meet the needs of our region. It is an opportunity for the community to be part of the Government decision making process.

As an Independent, I am pleased that I can now work with the current Government to try and get outcomes that benefit the MacKillop electorate.  I want more investment, I want our infrastructure maintained, our services to grow and our region to prosper. Country Cabinet is a way to engage with communities to ensure that the needs of our region are listened to.

I welcome this visit and hope members of the community will as well – regardless of your political persuasion. Working together is the way to get results.
